Nigeria DMO Posts Daily Eurobond Prices: Updated Marks Feed Secondary Trading, CDS and Issuance Calculus

DMO daily marks update the official secondary prices for Nigeria Eurobonds, directly feeding portfolio marks, CDS curves and the pricing of new USD issuance. Long-dated tenors carry the largest duration transmission to regional relative value.

The DMO published closing prices and yields for Nigeria's outstanding USD Eurobonds for 28 September 2026. The file provides the spreadsheet-level marks that market-makers, portfolio managers and banks use to reprice positions and to feed mark-to-market P&L and risk systems.

Those published marks transmit directly into Nigerian sovereign credit mechanics: portfolio managers will update valuations across the curve, changing reported duration and convexity metrics that underpin secondary trading and relative-value comparisons. Changes to long-dated marks alter duration-weighted exposure most, tightening or widening the implied spread to US Treasuries for longer tenors and feeding CDS-implied credit curves. The DMO file also informs primary market timing; an upward move in published yields across maturities raises the refinancing premium the sovereign and Nigerian corporates must price into any new USD issuance and can lift the cost of rolling external amortisations for banks and corporates with near-term maturities.

Regional transmission is mechanical: these Nigeria marks act as a West African reference in dealer books and can compress or widen spreads for Ghana and Ivory Coast paper through substitution and peer-bias effects in dollar portfolios. Where Nigeria's published yields move materially at the long end, it will reprice the relative value between Nigerian long-dated bonds and similarly dated Ghanaian or Ivorian bonds, affecting flow into West African credit sleeves.

The desk watches successive daily releases for persistent directionality across the belly and long end; a sequence of higher published yields at the 10Y+ segment would increase duration costs for holders and raise the hurdle for any sovereign or corporate USD program in the region.
